First Christmas
Eva's first Christmas was wonderful!
We spent xmas eve night at Jeremy's mom's. We had a great time and even had a visit from Santa (Jeremy's brother Abrahm). As you can see from the picture though, Eva was a little scared of Santa. We also had another surprise guest...a four week old piglet! Jeremy's mom had picked it up to bring to a neighbor who raises pigs when they drove up north to jeremy's grandma and grandpas the next day. This pig was still so small its being bottle fed, so we had a classic photo op for me to feed Eva while Abrahms girlfriend Tracy fed the pig. Classic!!!
On xmas day we went to my parents to celebrate with them and my sisters and their children. We had a lot of fun there and it was neat to see all the kids having a blast. I'm going to love to watch Eva grow and get excited about her presents each year too. She is starting to enjoy some toys like the play gym she is on in the pics. I can't believe she'll be toddeling around next xmas!!! There are 5 grandkids now at family gatherings and we learned that my sister Kari and her husband Jeremy will be adding to that number!! They have started the adoption process for their second child which they should be able to go and bring home from Ethiopia in 2010. Soo excited!

One Month
Eva turned one month old last Sunday!
She's doing really well! She is awake more and more. She usually falls asleep around 10:30ish and sleeps until 1 or 2, then stays awake for an hour or so and then back to sleep until 5 or 6. She stays awake for a few hours between naps during the day.
She has become fussier and has some bad gas issues so we've switched her to a soy formula and that seems to be helping a little. She is on formula now all the time although she still nurses a little too. She's not getting enough from nursing to live on though, hence the formula.
She had to go get an ultra sound done on her hip to make sure that its tightening up in the socket (she had loose hips from being a breech baby) and that is looking good but she'll need a follow up ultra sound at 6 weeks. She had to have her diaper changed before her ultra sound and when her diaper was off she poo'd all over the ultra sound table, so that was pretty funny! It was such a mess I ran out of wipes and had to have the ultra sound tech go and get me more.
I bet she's around 8 lbs now, so she's finally fitting into some of her clothes better!
I will be starting to pick up personal training clients again starting after the new year so that will be when she starts to go to her sitter. That will be hard for me! But i really like the lady I am bringing her to so that helps. I will slowly be adding clients so i will get to ease into having her not with me which would be easier than just going back to 40 hours a week right away too.
All in all we are all doing good and we are looking forward to the holiday!!

Thanksgiving
So much to be thankful for. Eva is doing real good, practicing getting her nights and days straight. It's so nice having Jeremy home right now and having an extra pair of hands. We went to my sister Kari's for my familys' thanksgiving and had a lot of fun! It was the first holiday where me and my sisters all had children to bring, so that was special. Eva stayed up a really long time with all the holiday excitement and was a very crabby button that night but I'm so glad she got to visit with everyone. It was also her first time wearing a dress! It was a little big on her, but super cute. I couldn't put her in the onesie and shoes that go with the outfit, and the tights were a bit baggy, but maybe by xmas she'll fill it out better. Make sure to check out the Thanksgiving album for more pics.
In the next week or so I'm going to try to bring her to the mall and get her picture with Santa! I checked out the Santa at Southridge mall and he looks pretty tame and not creepy, so we'll see! : )

Home!
We and Eva came home Monday night! We were released from the hospital at around 3 pm. It had been cold and sunny all day. Just as we were being discharged this freak blizzard blew in and it snowed like crazy while we were leaving! It only lasted for about 10 minutes, but we'll be able to say we took Eva home in the first little blizzard of the year.
She's been so wonderful, such a good baby. She is a little jaundice, but she went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said he thinks that it will clear up on its own. She sleeps A LOT! More than I thought she would! She hardly cries, but every night around 8 she'll start to cry and then will cry for hours! But then she sleeps almost through the night. She only wakes up once or twice, but she stays up then for an hour or two. I'm having to supplement her with formula right now until I have a milk supply enough for her by myself, so feeding her takes forever since I have to breast feed her and then give her a bottle too. I'm hoping that soon we'll be able to take out the bottle. She lost a little weight but now is on the way back up and currently weighs 6 lbs 6 oz.
Jeremy is already going back to work tomorrow and I will miss him! My mom is coming to help me out for the next few days. I am healing nicely, but still need the pain meds to get around.
Make sure to check out the newest photo album 'hosptial and home'!

1 day
Tomorrow is the big day! Our baby's birthday should be November 14. I am so nervous. I really want to meet her, but so nervous about the procedure and worried about knowing what to do with her! I am so glad that I will have so much support from my and jeremy's awesome families.
I think now that this pregnancy is almost over, I will really miss it! I will miss having her so close; its almost like she's been all mine for this whole time and now I'll have to share her. I am so excited for her to be her own person though and to watch her create who she'll grow up to be.
The image above is a progression from 22 weeks, to 28 weeks, to 32 weeks, to 35 weeks to today, 39 weeks. Please continue to watch our picassa album for pics of her this weekend!

One Week
Last week Tuesday the Dr's discovered that our little one is breach! Typically this is discovered a bit earlier than now, but we decided to try to do a procedure to try to rotate the baby into the head down position. Unfortunately, she's just too big and has too little room to move and they were unable to turn her.
SO
That means we are going to have her by cesarean! They have made an appointment for me on Friday November 14th at 730 am. We're very excited and nervous! I can't wait to meet her.

6 Months and Couting!
Jeremy and I can hardly believe we are starting our 6th month of pregnancy! So much has happened in the last half a year....new house, new jobs....but we are thrilled with it all.
I hope that this can be a place we can keep everyone apprised of our goings on, so check back often!
